Case Study An American Wholesaler in the Toy Business Tamco started working with this client from the start of their business. The company’s managers knew that they were going to have FOB HK orders from the start, and needed to have systems in place from the very beginning to handle these new orders going to major retailers. Tamco set up the company’s purchase order system, order production chart, shipping systems, and communication procedures between Asia and the home office. Part of this process was identifying the best forwarder for the company’s client to use for their own shipments. The toy company decided not to open an Asian company, but rather chose to use Tamco to run its petty cash account to pay for small bills. The accounting function for this client was a simple process of managing an internal “petty cash” account with updates on the account balance to the client. The company knew that international orders were on the horizon, and asked Tamco to help service its clients as well as oversee the company’s own production. Tamco’s goal is to help the company build its international sales up to a level where the profits from such sales are more than enough to pay the monthly service fee. We are happy to say that Tamco was apart of making this client “ Vendor of the Year” in 2005 for Toys R Us retailer. |
